biculturalism

   This word (from the Latin bis, meaning "two" or "twice," and colere, meaning "to cultivate" or "till") refers to the complex set of political, social, and religious components that result from the interaction of two different groups. Biculturalism, as an attempt to create bridges between two groups, takes a variety of forms, for example, African American, Asian American, Hispanic or Latino American.
